Ensuring optimum vision for your residents
Healthcall recognises that there are many factors to ensuring that an individual have the best vision, this includes good lighting and appropriate use of aids that are available. To support this we were the first provider to develop a support pack which includes a comprehensive training manual for nurses and care staff highlighting how to achieve optiumum vision for those elderly individuals in their care. This training resource also includes a DVD and simulation spectacles which give the wearer and idea of what it is like to suffer from cataracts or eye related macular degeneration.
We also provide a folder in which you can keep all of the information and care planning for your residents in one place helping you to meet CSCI requirements.
We also recognise that you need a visiting optician who will call to provide individual examinations as new residents are admitted. We wil happily provide this for your residents, respecting their dignity and wishes.
